We are looking for a caregiver for a 95-year-old gentleman (180 cm, 70 kg) who lives alone in an apartment on the 1st floor in the city of Bonn (Postal Code 53177). The senior is physically weaker but moves independently around the house with a walker. He suffers from severe back pain and knee osteoarthritis, thus he takes morphine for pain relief in the morning and evening. Due to the medication, he occasionally experiences constipation. The gentleman is fully mentally aware, highly educated, and interested in politics and social events. He has significant hearing loss and wears hearing implants, which he removes at night, making him nearly deaf during the night. He can sometimes be impatient and forgetful but is receptive to assistance. He also speaks Italian, Spanish, and a little Romanian. Caregiver assistance involves helping with personal hygiene (especially during showering and evening washing), meal and tea preparation, cooking, laundry, and cleaning. Shopping and joint walks are regular activities. The senior is independent in using the toilet, and no night care is required—although he wakes up twice at night, he manages without help. A nursing service visits in the morning, and a cleaning service visits the household once a week (this may be canceled in the future). A calm person who doesn't talk too much is preferred, as the senior has hearing issues, but he enjoys conversation when he feels like it. The caregiver has access to their own two rooms with a bathroom, a large wardrobe, and Wi-Fi connection. Time off is possible by arrangement with the family. The household is pet-free.

Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, an intermediate to good knowledge of German is most commonly required, while some families are satisfied with basic knowledge and/or require knowledge of another language, such as Czech or Russian. Families in Switzerland require good knowledge of German, though sometimes an upper-intermediate level is sufficient.
