a woman 40 years 160 cm 44 kg
Caregiving for an 87-year-old senior (44 kg, 160 cm) living with her husband in a family home. The senior suffers from a severe form of dementia and general age-related weakness. She often lives in the past, sometimes behaves like a small child, and has significantly weakened short-term memory, while long-term memory is relatively preserved. Her orientation is considerably limited. She moves around the house with the help of a walker, takes only small steps, and needs support when standing up and walking. During the day, she sleeps a lot and has a reduced appetite. She uses incontinence briefs. She requires partial assistance with dressing, personal hygiene, and using the toilet. Walks are possible only with accompaniment, ideally with a walker, as the senior enjoys going outside, shopping with her husband, and appreciates company. It is important to create a daily structure for her, engage her in appropriate activities, give her attention, and provide a sense of security. If she is sufficiently active and engaged during the day, she tends to sleep better at night. Nevertheless, night presence is required, especially in case of disorientation, when the senior might get up on her own, move things around, or cause disorder. Night waking is rather exceptional and is mainly addressed as needed. Only light physical assistance is necessary during transfers, most often by supporting or guiding her by the hand, with the senior cooperating according to her current condition. Care also includes household management, cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry, as well as assistance and guidance with basic hygiene according to her daily condition. The senior's husband also lives in the household; he is fully independent, active, still drives, and does not require care. A separate guest room is available, equipped with a bed, television, and refrigerator, with internet access. Free time can be arranged individually with the family.

No, completing a caregiving course is not necessary for most job positions; however, it is important to have at least some experience from a home environment.
Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
