Caregiving for an 81-year-old senior (75 kg, 175 cm) who suffers from dementia, general age-related weakness, and back pain. The client is mobile at home with the support of a walker, but due to the risk of falls, supervision is needed during walking and standing up. Mentally, the gentleman is rather quiet and undemanding, enjoys his peace, and occasionally indulges in a glass of wine in the evening. We are looking for an empathetic and patient person with an intermediate knowledge of the German language, who can respect his pace and mood. Job responsibilities include assistance with hygiene, dressing, and accompanying to the toilet. The gentleman wears a diaper only preventively at night, and night work is not regular, as he usually sleeps through the night. Important tasks include household management, meal preparation (food needs to be cut into smaller pieces), monitoring of fluid intake, and administration of pre-prepared medications. Every morning, an external caregiving service arrives for compression stockings, and a physiotherapist visits once a week. Shopping is handled once a week with the help of the family, who will drive the caregiver by car. Accommodation is provided in a large furnished room with a private bathroom, television, and internet connection in a separate family house. The house is equipped with necessary aids, including an adjustable bed and a shower chair. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.

Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, an intermediate to good knowledge of German is most commonly required, while some families are satisfied with basic knowledge and/or require knowledge of another language, such as Czech or Russian. Families in Switzerland require good knowledge of German, though sometimes an upper-intermediate level is sufficient.
