Diagnoses
Caregiving for an 81-year-old senior weighing 40 kg and 158 cm tall, who moves independently and has diagnoses of dementia/Alzheimer's and general aging, requiring support in daily life, companionship, and daily structure. The client lives alone in a family house in a village environment (Roth, Eckersmühlen area), along with a free-roaming cat. The client's orientation in time, space, and towards people is partially retained. Activities include accompanying on walks, assisting with dressing and eating, partial help with toilet and personal hygiene, meal preparation and shared dining, shopping, cleaning, laundry, winter maintenance over approximately 30 meters, and cat care (feeding and refilling water); managing light incontinence as needed and checking and changing bed linens and incontinence pads. Night work is not regular, but occasional nighttime restlessness may occur, not daily, depending on the day; lifting is not required. We are looking for a woman with a good knowledge of German, an active driver (a car will be provided), who is an animal lover, may smoke only outside the apartment (allowed on the balcony), and is resolute, as the senior often says "no." Start is flexible, with long-term engagement. The caregiver will have access to a guest room with a private bathroom, toilet, kitchen, balcony (where smoking is allowed), and internet. Free time will be arranged individually.

You don't pay our employment agency anything at all. We believe it is not right to charge people money in order to enable them to work, and so we offer assistance in finding job positions completely free of charge.
Most job positions in Germany are based on Slovak/Czech trade licenses, though employment contracts are possible with some families. In Switzerland, work is conducted under Swiss employment contracts.
A caregiving course is not required for families in Germany, but you need at least some experience of caring at home. In Switzerland, most families require a caregiving course.
Finding a family is an individual matter for every candidate, so there is no exact time frame for when we will find you a family that suits you both. In some cases we can arrange a job within a few hours, at other times the wait is a few days. For families in Switzerland, the wait can stretch to a month because of high demand. We place candidates fastest in the summer months, June – August, and more slowly from the end of January to the end of March.
If you wish, we will organise your transport. We have worked for many years with transport companies that our caregivers are happy to use again and again. You can of course choose another way of travelling that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey herself and the family contributes to it – €180 – 300 in Germany, CHF 380 – 400 in Switzerland, depending on the offer. If you do not have the cash to travel to Germany, we can pay the fare for you and deduct it from your pay afterwards.
In Germany a standard assignment lasts 4 – 6 weeks, in Switzerland 2 – 3 months. Replacement assignments are shorter.
In Germany the pay is up to €3 500 a month as a self-employed caregiver – the exact amount is stated in each offer. It depends on your German, the client’s state of health and whether you care for one person or a married couple. In Switzerland the pay is up to CHF 3 500 net a month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, families most often require intermediate to good German; some are happy with basic German and/or want another language, such as Czech, Russian or Bulgarian. Families in Switzerland require good German, although a solid intermediate level is sometimes enough.
