Caregiving for an 86-year-old senior (175 cm, 70 kg) in Büchenbach (village), where he lives in a family house (150 m²) with his wife, who is completely fit, drives herself, and does not require caregiving assistance. The senior is mobile in the house with a wheelchair, can take a few steps, but needs help with standing up and sitting down (requires lifting/lowering slowly), which can be managed by a woman, as the senior assists significantly. He is incontinent of urine, wears diapers for safety, but signals when he needs to use the toilet. He is slightly forgetful and occasionally confused depending on the day, but his orientation in time, place, and person is otherwise intact; it is important to ensure he drinks plenty throughout the day. He is entirely dependent on assistance for dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene, and requires partial help with eating, including cutting food, depending on the day's condition. He also requires lifting with light support; available equipment includes a bath lift, wheelchair, toilet chair, lifting system, and a nursing bed in the living room. The caregiver manages the household, maintains kitchen cleanliness, does laundry, changes pajamas daily, and changes bed linens several times a week. She takes him for walks with the wheelchair (15–20 min), plays games 1–2 times a week, and keeps him company – however, the senior sleeps a lot during the day, so extended attention is not necessary. Afternoon coffee with cake is very important to him. No night work is required. The caregiver's arrival is possible exclusively via a transport service directly to the front door. The caregiver has her own room with internet access, and the bathroom is shared. Free time: daily from 12:00–15:00 (+/- 1 hour depending on the day), always 3 consecutive hours in the afternoon; additionally, free time outside the home on Fridays from 13:00 to 19:00. A woman with good German skills (sufficient for conversation) is sought, smoking is tolerated only outside (the wife also smokes outside, no smoking indoors). Immediate start, long-term.

No, completing a caregiving course is not necessary for most job positions; however, it is important to have at least some experience from a home environment.
Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, an intermediate to good knowledge of German is most commonly required, while some families are satisfied with basic knowledge and/or require knowledge of another language, such as Czech or Russian. Families in Switzerland require good knowledge of German, though sometimes an upper-intermediate level is sufficient.
