Diagnoses
Caregiving is focused on a 90-year-old senior (60 kg, 180 cm) who lives alone in an 80 m2 apartment, as his wife is currently hospitalized. The gentleman suffers from general age-related weakness and has recently experienced a hip fracture, which poses a risk of falling. Although mentally sound for his age, he is currently experiencing delirium (temporary confusion), requiring a patient approach and increased supervision. In terms of mobility, the gentleman moves around the apartment using a walker, but a wheelchair is also available. Your responsibilities will include assisting him with getting up, dressing, undressing, and daily personal hygiene. Assistance with toilet visits is needed based on the client's current condition and needs. Nighttime assistance is not regular and is required only in emergencies or depending on the gentleman's current health status. The job duties also include complete household management, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry. Shopping facilities are just 2 minutes away from the apartment, and the daughter, who lives in the same city, is willing to help with large shopping trips. Providing companionship and accompanying the gentleman on outdoor walks is also an important part of the role. A smaller furnished room of 12 m2 with internet access is available for the caregiver. The bathroom is shared with the senior. The client's daughter occasionally visits with a dog, so the caregiver should be animal-friendly, although bringing personal pets into the household is not permitted. Free time is organized in the form of two half-days per week, arranged in agreement with the family.

No, completing a caregiving course is not necessary for most job positions; however, it is important to have at least some experience from a home environment.
Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
