Caregiving is intended for an 88-year-old senior (170 cm, 81 kg) who lives alone in a 3-room apartment with a balcony in the town of Pfinztal (Germany). He has a dependency level of 3 (Pflegegrad 3). He moves independently with the help of a walker and does not need assistance when getting up. He suffers from dementia, which mainly manifests as impaired short-term memory and weaker orientation in time. He recognizes close persons, sometimes forgets names, is calm, and shows no aggressive behavior. He has a urinary catheter, and in the past, he had prostate and skin cancer, both of which are currently in remission. He has impaired hearing and uses hearing aids. The job responsibilities include assistance with dressing, daily personal hygiene, assistance with showering (a bath lift is available), emptying the urinary bag, supervising regular medication intake, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and general household management. The senior eats independently, but monitoring sufficient fluid intake is necessary. The role also includes providing companionship, engaging in conversations, maintaining a daily routine, and going for walks together. Night work is not required. The family arranges doctor visits and lives directly in the same house – the daughter and her husband live in the apartment upstairs, so they are nearby if needed. The caregiver has access to a furnished room with internet. Free time can be arranged in agreement with the family.

For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.

Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, an intermediate to good knowledge of German is most commonly required, while some families are satisfied with basic knowledge and/or require knowledge of another language, such as Czech or Russian. Families in Switzerland require good knowledge of German, though sometimes an upper-intermediate level is sufficient.
