Caregiving for an 86-year-old female senior (80 kg, 160 cm, Pflegegrad 3) and an 89-year-old male senior (68 kg, 170 cm, Pflegegrad 3). The female senior has dementia/Alzheimer's, incontinence, and is recovering from a kidney pelvis inflammation, which has left her physically weakened. She moves independently with a walker and does not require assistance when standing up. The male senior has early-stage dementia, a stoma which he manages independently, and is fully mobile without aids. Both are oriented, communicative, and independent in eating. The job primarily involves assisting the female senior with dressing, hygiene, and toileting, changing incontinence aids, supporting her during showers, supervising medication intake, meal preparation, shopping, laundry, cleaning, and household management. For the male senior, only partial assistance with hygiene and support for daily routines is needed. Providing companionship, communication, and ensuring adequate hydration are important. Night duty is required approximately 1× per night as needed for the female senior; the male senior does not require night care. A garden is available. The daughter lives in a separate apartment in the house, and care for her is not required. The married couple resides in 76287 Rheinstetten in a two-generation house. The caregiver has a room with a bed, wardrobe, and shelf, and internet access is available. A female with good German language skills is required, non-smoker; a driver's license is advantageous but not mandatory. Time off is possible by arrangement.

Most job positions in Germany are based on Slovak/Czech trade licenses, though employment contracts are possible with some families. In Switzerland, work is conducted under Swiss employment contracts.
A caregiving course is not required for families in Germany, but you need at least some experience of caring at home. In Switzerland, most families require a caregiving course.
Finding a family is an individual matter for every candidate, so there is no exact time frame for when we will find you a family that suits you both. In some cases we can arrange a job within a few hours, at other times the wait is a few days. For families in Switzerland, the wait can stretch to a month because of high demand. We place candidates fastest in the summer months, June – August, and more slowly from the end of January to the end of March.
If you wish, we will organise your transport. We have worked for many years with transport companies that our caregivers are happy to use again and again. You can of course choose another way of travelling that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey herself and the family contributes to it – €180 – 300 in Germany, CHF 380 – 400 in Switzerland, depending on the offer. If you do not have the cash to travel to Germany, we can pay the fare for you and deduct it from your pay afterwards.
In Germany a standard assignment lasts 4 – 6 weeks, in Switzerland 2 – 3 months. Replacement assignments are shorter.
In Germany the pay is up to €3 500 a month as a self-employed caregiver – the exact amount is stated in each offer. It depends on your German, the client’s state of health and whether you care for one person or a married couple. In Switzerland the pay is up to CHF 3 500 net a month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, families most often require intermediate to good German; some are happy with basic German and/or want another language, such as Czech, Russian or Bulgarian. Families in Switzerland require good German, although a solid intermediate level is sometimes enough.
