Diagnoses
Caregiving for an 81-year-old senior (60 kg, 170 cm) with Parkinson's disease. The senior moves independently with a rollator indoors; walking outside and taking walks are not possible. Lifting is not required. Nighttime waking is not regular; depending on the daily condition, assistance to the toilet may be needed. The senior was hospitalized on 27. 12., during which she suffered several strokes, leading to temporary significant mental weakening. Her condition has gradually improved—speech and swallowing have been restored. Acute treatment is completed, followed by geriatric treatment and rehabilitation. Due to Parkinson's disease, she occasionally experiences tremors. Mentally, she may still be disoriented and confused, thus requiring companionship, calm supervision, and guidance. Job responsibilities include assistance with dressing (partially), guidance in personal hygiene, household management, cooking, shopping, laundry care, and cleaning. The senior manages eating and toilet use independently. An important part is opening mail and handing it over to her son. The family handles large shopping trips, and the caregiver may accompany the senior. Every 14 days, a familiar household helper visits. Great emphasis is placed on companionship, conversations, and daily engagement, such as sitting together in the garden. The senior requires a lot of contact and verbal support, making good knowledge of German necessary. The senior lives alone in a multi-story family house, with her room located on the top floor. The caregiver has accommodation in a guest room near the senior, with internet access available. A cat is present in the household. Free time is arranged by agreement, with one free day available per week.

No, completing a caregiving course is not necessary for most job positions; however, it is important to have at least some experience from a home environment.
Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
