Care for a 97-year-old senior woman in the village of Wiltingen (Postal Code 54459, rural area). The senior is physically and mentally relatively well, has diabetes, is mobile with a walker, and can manage most daily activities independently, such as dressing, hygiene, toileting, and eating. However, she requires the constant presence of another person due to a strong fear of loneliness and desires a "roommate." The caregiver will primarily assist as a companion and support in daily life. Job responsibilities include accompanying her on walks, providing simple household assistance (cleaning, cooking, laundry), minor gardening tasks like watering flowers or sweeping leaves, and overall presence and supervision of the senior. The senior enjoys knitting, reading, and spending time in the garden, so social activities and spending time together are also important. Healthcare duties include supervising medication intake according to the doctor's plan, assisting with inhaler use, regular emptying of the commode chair (at least 3 times daily), and occasional body lotion application. The senior uses a walker and cane but does not require lifting. Night work is not required, as she sleeps approximately from 23:00 to 6:00. The caregiver is provided with separate accommodation—a whole floor of a family house (approximately 60 m²) with a private bathroom, TV, and WiFi. Free time can be arranged with the family.

A caregiving course is not required for families in Germany, but you need at least some experience of caring at home. In Switzerland, most families require a caregiving course.
Finding a family is an individual matter for every candidate, so there is no exact time frame for when we will find you a family that suits you both. In some cases we can arrange a job within a few hours, at other times the wait is a few days. For families in Switzerland, the wait can stretch to a month because of high demand. We place candidates fastest in the summer months, June – August, and more slowly from the end of January to the end of March.
If you wish, we will organise your transport. We have worked for many years with transport companies that our caregivers are happy to use again and again. You can of course choose another way of travelling that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey herself and the family contributes to it – €180 – 300 in Germany, CHF 380 – 400 in Switzerland, depending on the offer. If you do not have the cash to travel to Germany, we can pay the fare for you and deduct it from your pay afterwards.
In Germany a standard assignment lasts 4 – 6 weeks, in Switzerland 2 – 3 months. Replacement assignments are shorter.
In Germany the pay is up to €3 500 a month as a self-employed caregiver – the exact amount is stated in each offer. It depends on your German, the client’s state of health and whether you care for one person or a married couple. In Switzerland the pay is up to CHF 3 500 net a month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, families most often require intermediate to good German; some are happy with basic German and/or want another language, such as Czech, Russian or Bulgarian. Families in Switzerland require good German, although a solid intermediate level is sometimes enough.
