Caregiving for a client (66 years old, 95 kg, 180 cm) who is mobile within the house using a rollator or occasionally sits in a wheelchair. The client suffers from progressive dementia with significant short-term memory impairment, has mild symptoms of Parkinson's disease, and experiences walking difficulties. The client is incontinent and uses pads; requires a lot of guidance and activation activities. Expected tasks include assistance with dressing and undressing with partial help, complete assistance with toileting and personal hygiene including wiping and changing pads, supervision of medication intake, monitoring adequate fluid and food intake, meal preparation and shared dining, shopping, cleaning, and laundry, social activities and stimulation (browsing photo albums, books, games), and providing companionship and motivation. The house is located in the village of Gehlert, Germany - a rural area with approximately 600 inhabitants, shops are not within walking distance, a bicycle is available, and the bus service is limited. A guest room equipped with a bed, desk, wardrobe, TV, and private bathroom is available, and internet access is provided. Only the client lives in the household, cleaning is handled by an assistant every two weeks for two hours, and the sister-in-law accompanies the caregiver for shopping. The gentleman usually sleeps through the night without major issues, is well-medicated, but occasionally needs assistance to the toilet once or twice a night. Work schedule and leisure arrangements are negotiable, with ample free time as the gentleman enjoys peace and spends a lot of time sitting on the couch. Preference is given to a person who is communicative, patient, and willing to engage personally with the client, with intermediate to good knowledge of German, who has a patient, warm approach without constant use of a mobile phone. Smoking is allowed only outside, ideally a non-smoker.

Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, an intermediate to good knowledge of German is most commonly required, while some families are satisfied with basic knowledge and/or require knowledge of another language, such as Czech or Russian. Families in Switzerland require good knowledge of German, though sometimes an upper-intermediate level is sufficient.
