Caregiving in Winterberg, Germany, for a client (86 years old, 80 kg, 160 cm) who requires a walker, moves very slowly, diagnosis: general age-related weakness. Currently in short-term care until 10.02, with a commode chair and nursing bed available. She is very forgetful, possible dementia, though not yet confirmed; short-term memory is weakened due to a hospital stay, but orientation is somewhat retained. The patient currently notices when she needs to go to the toilet, wears a permanent catheter, likes to sleep longer, and from approximately 9:00–9:30, the caregiver should assist the patient in getting up. Expected activities include meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, and laundry; cutting food into smaller pieces is possible, but she can still eat independently; routine household chores and daily tasks, basic cleaning is provided every three weeks and remains in effect. The apartment is located on the 1st floor, and it is necessary to feed the cat twice a day and clean the litter box. Night work is not required daily, depending on the current condition. Assistance is needed with dressing and undressing, standing and walking with support, toilet use, and personal hygiene with partial help, while food intake is independent. Light support is needed when getting up (offering a hand), the client can still cooperate well. Shops are within walking distance, and accommodation is in an apartment building. A guest room is prepared for the caregiver in a converted attic apartment unit, a large room with a private bathroom, and internet is available. Leisure arrangements are negotiable, and the client can be alone for some time. Intermediate knowledge of the German language is required, smoking only outside the apartment, a driver's license is not necessary.

Finding a family is a highly individual matter for each applicant, and therefore there is no exact timeframe for when we will find you a family with whom you will be mutually compatible. In some cases, we are able to arrange work within a few days; in other instances, the waiting period can be up to a month. For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.
If you are interested, we can arrange transportation for you. We have long-term partnerships with transport companies that our caregivers happily use repeatedly. Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, an intermediate to good knowledge of German is most commonly required, while some families are satisfied with basic knowledge and/or require knowledge of another language, such as Czech or Russian. Families in Switzerland require good knowledge of German, though sometimes an upper-intermediate level is sufficient.
